Next up is Eric B. with his D-Day landing zone, featuring troopers from the 82nd Airborne. Eric created a stand that would allow him to have some paratroopers floating down under their parachutes. Pretty cool! Nice attention to detail on all the figures Eric. Very cool indeed.
George K. did a Vietnam themed setup featuring U.S. Marines engaged in street fighting (I'm guessing during TET). The first part of the scene shows Marines inside a building. The officer and his RTO are working out some tactics with Command. Another trooper is receiving some first aid for a wound from the medic. There is even a Combat photographer catching all the action.
Outside we see Marines under fire and returning the same. George built his "city" from insulation foam covered with some spackling paste. I particularly like the bricks he worked into one of the buildings.
Panzercommander also did a WWII Paratrooper scene for his diorama. This time it's paratroopers to the 17th Airborne in late war gear, forming up and moving out during the last large paratrooper drop of the war - Operation Varsity. Fred did a great job of creating a scene using foam and roofing tile to create a road. Artificial turf, an European telephone pole and discarded parachute complete the scene. Great job buddy, this was a very cool display.
