Well... the January 2024 meeting was a great time. People shared Christmas items as well as current projects. Lots of eye candy to be sure. We start with MARK's display. Mark built the tree in this vignette (one of six that I believe he is working on). He then finished off the setting with some grass mat and "bushes". The French resistance fighter in the scene is riding the Dragon German bicycle, which he has repainted.
This shot gives you a sense of the size of the tree. It is pretty impressive. And of course we all want a forest full of them now.
MARK also found these ladies at his local Target, marked down after the holiday, so he snapped them up.
GEORGE Brought a new project, which is a WIP at this point. He is still putting together gear, etc for these Russian soldiers. Can't wait to see the finished product, as they are looking pretty cool already.
CINDY brought a couple of Joes she has been working on a new item she recently purchased. The Joes are her interpretation of some late 19th/ early 20th Century Gentlemen. Everyone at the meeting loved that top hat, a very cool piece. The other item is what she was calling a "Baby Joker", a child figure with a clown mask (actually I thought he was pretty scary even without the clown mask). He came with a variety of hands and a couple of weapons.
JUSTIN blew us all away with another one of his custom figures, this one his interpretation of the character of FLINT from the GI JOE - REAL AMERICAN HERO franchise. As usual, JUSTIN has created custom items to go along with his excellent painting and weathering to create an amazing figure that we all would like to own. Beautiful work man.
I wish I had gotten a few more pictures of the figure with his Beret on. JUSTIN had two amazing looking special forces berets that he had made from scratch. They were first rate; 10 times the quality of any of the molded ones that are out there. Incredibly impressive.
FRED brought a beautiful painted and weathered Sherman for all of us to drool over. A lot of us have Dragon M4A3 Shermans. This is the Viper M4A1 Sherman. It is an impressive looking tank.
